It’s 2023 on the East Coast and I mixed an unexpected mix.  As we change blog issues so to speak, the cover may change as well.  The current Dolphin Mall Cinemas, Miami will be a featured image of some post and we will stay on https://ckwal.gdn.  https://ckwal.com is also now ours and forwards to this address.  Don’t forget our previous cover image of 2022, now viewable here at this linked post.  In summary although we didn’t have an official Person of the Future Year, I was thinking of who unofficially would have had the title.  It seems Bruce Willis started off our Year of Movies when we did a “Bruce Marathon”.  One of the big theater movies this year was The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent wherein Nick Cage plays himself and reminded us of our original intentions by filling the shoes of that usual special title as well in an action film!  My character Chibi 2 was Character of the Year I decided this morning, by helping us budget the trip to Asia in 2023.  We had lots of inspiration following the new movies and catching up with some older ones through subscriptions on Roku.

So about the following mix.  I miscalculated the timing of the ball drop in the previous notes and had to add many tracks on the fly.   There are notes for this mix, still not that accurate considering I was mixing in real-time to the New Year in EST, USA and focusing on getting it done despite my error.  Charli XCX’s “Hot in It (Tiesto’s Hotter Extended Mix)” sneaks in for a short time to fill space before “Riffs of the Night”, but actually works with the theme lyrically.  I’m excited to start our New Year getting ready for some places I used to live internationally and to share stories and photos from those travels.  We’ve waited a long time through the Pandemic and lack of income, so we won’t be stopping at the four-country Asia trip.  I still have to work my regular jobs however and 2023 will be the busiest and most ambitious one from me ever.
